Yamamoto® Research Glucovit is a dietary supplement based on plant extracts. Long used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, berberine is an alkaloid extracted from plants such as barberry (Berberis vulgaris) with interesting properties. Over the past decade, there has been growing research interest in its extraordinary effects in contributing to the normal function of the cardiovascular system and its fundamental role in activating a key metabolic enzyme: AMPK.
Glucovit also contains bitter melon, a fruit believed to be one of the most effective in supporting carbohydrate metabolism thanks to its blend of saponins. Following extensive studies that have confirmed its effectiveness, Gymnema Sylvestre can also support carbohydrate metabolism.
Gymnemic acid, which is very similar in structure to glucose, exerts its activity in the intestine, where it reversibly blocks the glucose receptor (the blockade, which occurs one hour after administration, remains active for 5 or 6 hours). Gymnema also plays a role in controlling hunger and supporting lipid metabolism.
Cinnamon also has a powerful effect on carbohydrate metabolism. Furthermore, cinnamon, berberine, and bitter melon support regular intestinal transit.
