And “hammering home the point” about recovery and how to promote it, I once again sought out what might be a sort of amino acid “gold standard” that could be the ideal choice to deliver to the muscles during such a delicate and complex “peri-workout” phase, where every action of any nutrient triggers a related biochemical reaction that supports muscle recovery processes.

The Current Protein Landscape

There are already milk protein isolates, whey or casein protein hydrolysates, and essential amino acids—including the good old BCAAs—all forms of protein that can be absorbed fairly quickly, with hydrolyzed (pre-digested) forms being particularly fast, for example. All of these, however, are more than respectable in terms of their function and effectiveness. While researching which forms might be the fastest and most efficient for maximizing amino acid bioavailability to the muscle, I formulated "AminoDEX."
