Royal Jelly 30 capsules YAMAMOTO

€ 14,50

While honey has been known since ancient times, royal jelly, on the other hand, was first discovered in the mid-17th century. Over time, this product has been the subject of various studies, primarily focusing on the effects of royal jelly in cases of neurasthenia, overwork, pregnancy, and various diseases. To date, at least 180 different compounds have been identified that give it energizing, metabolic, antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. However, researchers conclude that royal jelly has many other areas of application, and further research is needed, which could lead to new discoveries regarding its composition and potential uses.

Royal jelly, also known as "royal jelly," is a substance secreted exclusively by nurse worker bees—specifically those between 5 and 14 days into their adult life—from glands located on their heads. It is a protein-based substance, light yellow in color, with a distinctive odor and a sweet-sour taste. Its production results from the bees’ high-pollen diet, yet it has long been used as a tonic and restorative in our tradition. It is a food administered to all young larvae until the third day of life and thereafter reserved only for those destined to become "queen bees," while the others (future drones and workers) receive a mixture of honey and pollen.
Considering that a queen has a lifespan of over five years, while a worker lives for about 45–90 days, the difference is essentially determined by the queen bee’s diet.

Royal jelly is produced by beekeepers in large quantities by tricking worker bees into producing it for a large number of queen bees, of which only a few will survive by the end of the harvest.
This process yields only a few grams of royal jelly, despite the beekeeper’s long hours of work, which explains the product’s considerable cost. Harvesting from the hives is then done by manual scraping using non-metallic tools or by suction through small glass tubes, after which the royal jelly is placed in sterile glass containers until a sufficient quantity is gathered for processing.

The royal jelly is then filtered to remove impurities and cooled in special containers or freeze-dried; it is then sold fresh and stored in the refrigerator, or freeze-dried and offered in various forms as supplements in capsules, powder, or vials. The main components of royal jelly—which vary depending on the hive—are water, proteins, sugars, lipids, and minerals. Water makes up about two-thirds of fresh royal jelly, but when analyzing the dry weight, proteins and sugars are by far the most abundant components. Proteins account for an average of 73.9% by weight, a large portion of which is in the form of amino acids, both in free and bound states.

All eight essential amino acids for humans are present. The sugars consist mainly of fructose and glucose in relatively constant proportions, similar to their content in honey, with fructose predominating. In many cases, fructose and glucose together account for 90% of the total sugars, while the sucrose content varies considerably from one sample to another.
The lipid content is, from many points of view, a truly fascinating characteristic. The lipid fraction consists of 80–90% by weight of free fatty acids with unusual and rare molecular structures. These are primarily hydroxylated fatty acids or short-chain dicarboxylic acids commonly found in foods of animal and plant origin. These fatty acids are responsible for most of the biological properties associated with royal jelly.

The minerals present in the greatest quantities are, in descending order: K, Ca, Na, Zn, Fe, Cu, and Mn, with potassium being the most abundant. The vitamins present in large quantities are thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), nicotinamide (B3 or PP), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), and folic acid (B9). Also present in very small quantities are Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Vitamin E. Other constituents include acetylcholine, an antibacterial and antibiotic factor produced during the digestion of honeydew, nectar, and pollen by bees.

The result is a high-energy product recommended during periods of particular stress to combat fatigue and support the immune system. It helps you better cope with seasonal changes or challenging times when you feel the need to boost your overall vitality.

Royal jelly is a truly "special" natural substance with tonic and restorative properties, recommended for children, convalescents, athletes, and students due to its positive energizing effect on physical and mental fatigue. It helps restore balance to the body in cases of energy deficiency associated with physical and mental exhaustion. For many years, it has been valued by pediatricians and mothers alike; it is a valuable tonic that promotes development and growth in children. In pediatric practice, in fact, it is used successfully in premature infants—who are therefore underweight—as well as in children suffering from poor appetite or malabsorption.

Royal jelly helps support growth; in fact, the weight gain resulting from its consumption is not simply due to an increased appetite, but rather the result of a specific action that improves nutrient absorption. In addition to children, it is also prescribed for elderly people who have lost their appetite or who need extra energy in cases of age-related fatigue.

It has a balancing effect on the central nervous system, helping with insomnia, anxiety, and nervous tension. It acts as an antiseptic against various types of germs, including Staphylococcus aureus, and exhibits antiviral and antifungal properties, improving the function of the gastrointestinal system and the adrenal glands (hence its role in supporting the body during times of stress). Royal jelly is also a valuable source of bifidobacteria—beneficial bacteria that support gastrointestinal health—and thus acts as a probiotic.

The presence of beneficial bifidobacteria helps prevent candida, food intolerances, intestinal inflammation, and dysbiosis, and there are studies (which require further investigation) suggesting it could serve as a potential weapon against type 2 diabetes in the future. From a metabolic standpoint, it has also been found that a daily intake of just 100 mg of royal jelly reduces total cholesterol, “LDL” (bad) cholesterol, and triglycerides, while increasing HDL cholesterol. These results suggest that royal jelly plays a positive role in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. It has also been observed that blood pressure is reduced in hypertensive individuals due to the presence of bioactive peptides with antihypertensive properties.

For better absorption of nutrients, it is recommended to take royal jelly orally on an empty stomach, preferably 15–30 minutes before breakfast.
