A forearm rest and a grip allow for a firm hold on the striking pads. These tools are extremely useful during Taekwondo training: the movements for basic techniques (kicks, punches, blocks, spins, steps, and exits) are practiced using the striking pads to improve accuracy, power, and speed; you can perform both single kicks and more complex combinations and sequences. The Taekwondo striking pad also allows for tactical training in pairs: one athlete holds the pad and simulates feints, advances, or retreats, while the other athlete practices attack or counterattack techniques and reactions.
