A forearm stopper and grip allow for a firm grip on the pads. These tools are extremely useful during Taekwondo training: basic technique movements (kicks, punches, blocks, rotations, steps, exits) are simulated with the pads to improve accuracy, strength, and speed; both single kicks and more complicated combinations and sequences can be performed. The Taekwondo pad also allows for tactical training in pairs: one athlete holds the pad and simulates feints, advances, or exits, while the other athlete practices attack, counter, and reaction techniques.
